Nagpur: The Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray, who is currently on a Vidarbha visit, met State BJP President Chandrashekhar Bawankule in Nagpur on Monday. Raj Thackeray went to Bawankule’s residence in Koradi and held discussions. For the past few days, the MNS-BJP alliance for the local body polls has been talked about in political circles. The latest meeting between the two once again raised the possibilities of a BJP-MNS tie up.
Notably, on Sunday, Thackeray met Union Minister Nitin Gadkari in Nagpur. Both the leaders watched the musical fountain show at Futala Lake in the city. After this, it has come to light that Raj Thackeray met the State President of BJP Bawankule. Although the visit was termed as a goodwill visit, there is definitely a possibility of political discussion in this visit.
Even earlier, Raj Thackeray and Chandrasekhar Bawankule had met a few weeks ago in Mumbai. The meeting took place at Raj Thackeray’s Shivtirtha residence in the State Capital.
While talking to the media before the meeting with Raj Thackeray, Bawalkule ruled out the possibility of the BJP-MNS alliance. “Raj Thackeray has been my close friend for the past many years. He is a big-hearted and magnificent person. We had met earlier also as friends. Monday’s meeting will be a goodwill visit and nothing more,” Bawankule asserted.
