Despite court orders, Navratri celebrated with full enthusiasm at Mor Hindi School’s playground

Nagpur: Despite Bombay High Court orders not allowing loudspeakers and a music system at the playground of Mor Hindi Primary School, the ground saw people celebrating Navratri with full enthusiasm and loud music.

The Bombay High Court on Monday had ordered that no musical instruments shall be used in playgrounds as it comes under a silent zone. The said petitions were filed by the residents of Ramdaspeth area through Adv. Rahul Bhangde, Adv. Shajal Sarda and Adv. Dhruv Sharma against Ramdaspeth plot owners and residents association and the public authorities.

The petitioners contended that the playground of Mor Hindi Primary School falls into the category of Silence Zone as the same is within 100 meters of two Hospitals – Arneja Heart and Multispeciality Hospital and Bisne Heart Hospital and a school – Mor Hindi Primary School and, therefore, the authorities ought not to have granted permission in view of Noise Pollution Rules, 2000 which prohibit the use of any sound producing instrument such as speakers, music systems, loudspeakers, Amplifier, drums and trumpet etc within the range of 100 meters of the Silence Zone.
