Four of a family booked for duping man of over Rs 3.19 crore in land deal

Nagpur: Beltarodi Police on Tuesday booked four persons for allegedly duping a middle-aged man of over Rs 3.19 crore in a land deal.

Identified as Janardan Barai (65), his son Jitendra Barai (35), Radhabai Deorao Morey (55) and her husband Deorao Morey (65), the accused are the residents of Ward No 3, Shree Nagar, Tiwaskar Wadi, Raipur, Hingna.

Vardan Vinod Bora (45), a resident of Plot No 402, Ram Nagar Chowk, Ambazari, lodged a complaint that the accused quartet entered into an agreement with him towards the sale of seven acre land at Mouza Parsodi, Khasra No 37/01 for Rs 4.50 crore. Between 2014 and July 22, 2022, he gave them Rs 3.19 crore through cheques and RTGS. However, the accused did not execute the sale deed in his favour. Later, he came to know that the accused persons sold the litigated property to him and were avoiding the registry.

On the basis of Bora’s complaint, police registered a case under Sections 420, 120(b) and 34 of the Indian Penal Code against the accused persons. Further investigations are underway.
