Nagpur: On the occasion of 356th birth anniversary (Prakash Parv) of Shri Guru Gobind Singh, Shri Kalgidhar Satsang Mandal in Nagpur has arranged ‘Icchhapurak Prarthna Saptah Path’, from December 23, to 29, 2022.
According to Convener Adv. Madhavdas Mamtani, in Treta Yug, King Dashrath had performed a Yajna for a son, and was blessed with four sons — Shri Ram, Shri Laxman, Shri Bharat and Shri Shatrughan — respectively. In Kaliyug, the Bhakti Prospectus has changed to Prabhu Simran and Hari Kirtan. Nowadays performing an ‘Anushthan’ is a very costly affair and it is often beyond the reach of common man, hence, Shri Kalgidhar Satsang Mandal has arranged Prayers, ‘Icchapurak Prarthna Saptah Path’ of Shri Guru Granth Saheb with Prasad and offering garland or dushala on the concluding 7th day, wherein prayers will be made to fulfill the desires of all the devotees and also for removal of sorrows/obstacles etc.
The programme will commence on December 23 at 1.15 pm with the recital of Shri Japuji Saheb, Shri Sukhmani Saheb followed by Path of Shri Guru Granth Saheb and will continue for seven days from 1.15 pm to 6.30 pm. From December 24 to 29, Asadiwar, Shabad Kirtan, Pravchan will be done from 5.30 am to 8.30 am. The Ichha Purak Prarthna (Prayers) will be performed at Shri Kalgidhar Satsang Mandal Hall, Jaripatka, Nagpur.
According to the convener Adv. Madhavdas Mamtani, a person who desires to participate in ‘Ichhapurak Prarthana Saptah Path’ has to attend Satsang and do Paath for all the seven days and keep their heads covered during the rituals. The devotees have to take only vegetarian foods, and abstain from liquor and tobacco for seven days. On December 29, a grand Shobhayatra (Procession) comprising of various floats on the life of Shri Guru Gobind Singh and other Gurus will be taken out.
The devotees from the city as well as other places like Raipur, Jaipur, Bhopal, Wardha, Amravati, Gondia, Saoner, Allahabad, Bhandara, Chhindwara will be participating. Special buses as well as private vehicles have been arranged from various places of city for the devotees.
According to Adv. Madhavdas Mamtani, more than one lakh people are expected to participate in the programme. This is the 53rd year of celebration of the “Prakash Prav” by the Mandal. Adv. Mamtani has appealed to the public to participate in large numbers.
