Nagpur: Adv Sandeep Tajne, Maharashtra President of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and a group of his supporters were booked by Kapil Nagar Police on the charges of attempt-to-murder here, on Friday. A counter complaint has been filed by Adv Jajne in this connection.

Following a counter complaint by Adv Tajne, the same offence was registered against BSP’s office bearer Suresh Manwatkar, Gopal Meshram and others after a group clash within the party activists on Thursday.

According to police sources, Manwatkar, an ex-serviceman, a resident of Mahajanwadi, Wanadongri, and party’s Hingna Circle In-Charge, in his complaint stated that BSP was planning to take out a morcha to Vidhan Bhavan on Friday. A meeting was organised at the party’s Nari Road office on Thursday.

Manwatkar alleged that Adv Tajne was demanding money from office-bearers and workers to ‘strengthen’ the party which led to a group clash. Adv Tajne, his personal assistant Samadhan Kamble and 50-60 others attacked him causing serious injuries to his private parts and head, Manwatkar alleged.

In his counter complaint, Adv Tajne stated that Manwatkar, Gopal Meshram and others attacked him causing injuries to his eyes. After receiving complaints from Manwatkar and Adv Tajne, police registered offences of attempt-to-murder against both the groups.
