Nagpur: Acting tough, the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) on Tuesday undertook demolition of Karnal Biryani Centre of Muslim Library Canteen (MLC) in Mominpura locality of the city. Squads of Anti-Encroachment Department of NMC were deployed to remove the tin sheds erected on the land.
The civic officials received a complaint about the functioning of Karnal Biryani Centre in the ML Canteen land and hence action was initiated to clear the encroachment. As per orders of Nagpur Bench of Bombay High Court dated March 31, 2017, the land allotted to Muslim League was to be utilised for library. However commercial exploitation was being carried out by opening a restaurant that was in violation of norms.
