Nagpur: The recent rise in air passengers from the Nagpur city has increased the number of flights operating from the Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport. Nagpur now has air connectivity with 14 domestic and two overseas destinations.
With the launch of Indigo flight (on March 15) between Nagpur and Nashik, there are about 80 flights arriving and departing every day from the city. Taking advantage of the increased flow of domestic and international travellers, most of the airline operators are starting flight services on new routes connecting cities like Nagpur.
As of now, there are 16 flights per day connecting Nagpur and Mumbai. Eight flights of Air India, Indigo and Go First are flying from Nagpur to Mumbai and the same number of flights is coming back to Nagpur every day. Flights from 5.55 am to 9.20 pm are available for the passengers going to Mumbai. The passengers returning to the city may also board flights from Mumbai from early morning to late in the evening.

Similarly, five flights are operating on Nagpur – Delhi route and the same number of flights is coming back to the city every day. Indigo and Go First are operating on the route. In recent times, Nagpur – Pune route has also seen more flights. There are five flights per day on the route and five flights on Pune – Nagpur route. Indigo and Go First are operating on the route that has seen a significant rise of passengers in the recent years.
Nagpur – Bengaluru route is witnessing consistent rise in number of air passengers. However, at present only six flights (three arriving and three taking off from the city) are operating on the route. Nagpur-Hyderabad and Nagpur-Kolkata routes have only four flights (to and fro) each per day. On the other hand there are four flights per day (to and fro) for passengers travelling to Indore.
On Nagpur-Ahmedabad, four flights are available every day while two flights are connecting Nagpur and Lucknow and Nagpur every day. On the Nagpur-Goa route, only two flights are operating for the passengers. Two flights each per day are available for passengers on Nagpur-Chennai and Nagpur Belgaum routes.
In addition to this, there is only one flight (only on Friday and Sunday) on Nagpur-Sharjah and one flight (only on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday) on Nagpur -Doha route.
