The accused thieves were identified as Ankit Santosh Patel (21) of Vinkar Colony Manewada, and his minor accomplice. During interrogation, both individuals stated that another minor accomplice Pankaj (name changed) was also with them at the time of the theft. The police obtained Pankaj’s mobile number and began searching for him. However, it appears that Ankit and his minor accomplice took the opportunity to escape from the police station. This has caused a stir among the police, who have launched a search for the two individuals.

Later, the police were able to track down the location of the minor to a train headed to Gondia. They contacted the railway police, who detained him along with Ankit. The three individuals were then taken to Beltarodi Police Station for questioning. When asked about the incident, Senior Police Inspector of Vaijayanti Mandawdhare stated that Ankit and his accomplice were released after giving a notice. Pankaj was wanted for investigation, hence his location was being tracked.

However, this clarification has raised questions about why Ankit and his accomplice were detained again for questioning if they were earlier released with a notice.

In yet another theft case at the temple, the Panchmukhi Shiva temple at Navnath Colony in Beltarodi police station limits was also recently robbed, with two old Panchmukhi idols of Lord Shankar, Shri Rama and Krishna stolen from the temple. There is a possibility that Ankit and his accomplices are involved in this theft as well.
