Nagpur: The Pardi Flyover will be opened to the public next month, said Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari on Friday.
PM Narendra Modi had performed bhoomipujan of the project nine years ago on August 21, 2014. “The flyover will be one-of-its-kind in the country,” said Gadkari at an event organized by Nagpur Smart and Sustainable City Development Corporation Limited at Pardi to distribute e-rickshaws to 100 physically challenged persons. According to Gadkari, the e-rickshaws will help divyang people to earn at least Rs 1,000 to Rs 1,500 daily.

Gadkari said the delivery of these e-rickshaws had been delayed as these were equipped with more powerful batteries. “I have decided not to travel in vehicles using petrol or diesel as fuel and 400 start-ups have come across the country manufacturing e-vehicles,” he said and added that he supports bringing a law to regularise e-rickshaws in the country.
