The complaint was filed by Awadhesh Ramhatal Gautam (53), a resident of Plot No 2, Bajrang Nagar, the security guard employed at the supermarket. According to police, the incident took place around 8:30 pm on Tuesday when Om and Aman entered the supermarket. Om reportedly attempted to exit with a perfume bottle he had picked up, prompting Gautam to request the bill. In response, Om threatened Gautam and moved towards his two-wheeler, where he placed the perfume bottle in the dickey before returning inside the store.

When Gautam persisted in requesting payment for the perfume, Om drew a knife and verbally threatened Gautam. The situation took a violent turn as one of the criminals snatched Rs 600 from a customer using threats. Om signalled his accomplices who were waiting outside the supermarket. They stormed into the establishment brandishing their weapons terrorising the customers.

Despite this, Gautam attempted to catch hold of Om. However, Om’s accomplices attacked him and Om escaped from his clutches. However, a vigilant citizen managed to capture Om and held him till police arrived. Dhantoli police reached the scene and took Om into custody. Subsequent investigation based on his information led to the arrest of Aman.

The police are currently continuing their search for the arrest of the remaining accused involved in this brazen robbery. A case under Section 395 of Indian Penal Code was registered by Dhantoli Police.
