Nagpur: The Wardha Police have arrested all the six accused in the robbery case in which the accused had looted Rs 4.50 crore at gunpoint on Wednesday, informed Superintendent of Police (SP) Noorul Hasan at a press conference on Friday. Meanwhile, a cash reward of Rs 50,000 was given by SP Hasan to the Wardha team for their good performance, he informed.
The accused had waylaid a car heading from Nagpur to Hyderabad on National Highway No 44 and robbed Rs 4.50 crore at gunpoint on Wednesday night in Pohna Shivara village under the jurisdiction of Wadner Police Station. Complainant Atthesingh Solanki on the instructions of Proprietor Kamlesh Shah, Ahmedabad, was going to Hyderabad along with his colleague Arvind Patel when they were looted by the accused at gunpoint who came in the Honda City car that had an amber light.
On the basis of a complaint lodged by Atthesingh Solanke, (42), a resident of Chandsabha, Patan, Gujarat, with Wadner police, a case was registered. The police had immediately swung into action and several teams were formed on the direction of SP Noorul Hasan on Wednesday. A total five accused including Brijpalsingh Thakur, Adil Sheikh, Dinesh Wasnik, Ishu Swami and RanjitWaghmare were arrested from different places in Nagpur. They were produced in the court and were granted police custody remand till September 13.
Meanwhile, the sixth accused Raj Bundela was also arrested on Friday afternoon from Nagpur. The police are still investigating and are yet to recover the remaining cash looted in the incident. Cash Rs 3.26 crore and the white Honda City car used in the crime (MH-31/ EQ-0909) worth Rs 10 lakhs as well as the complainant’s Kia Seltos car worth Rs 10 lakh put together at Rs 3.46 crore were seized from the accused persons on Thursday.
The action was taken under the guidance of Superintendent of Police Noorul Hasan by a team of Additional Superintendent of Police Dr Sagar Kawade, Sub Divisional Police Officer Roshan Pandit, Hinganghat, Sanjay Gaikwad of Crime Branch, Sandeep Kapde, Santosh Darekar, Deepak Wankhede, Sandeep Gade, Sanjay Mishra, Amol Lagad, Amit Sheikh, Santosh Darbude, Gajanan Lambse, Chandrakant Burange, Sachin Ingole, Dinesh Bothkar of Cyber Cell, Nilesh Katrojwar, Vishal Madavi, Ankit Jibhe and others.
In the overall investigation of the crime, Commissioner of Police Nagpur City Amitesh Kumar, Special Inspector General of Police Nagpur Zone Chering Dorje, Special Police Inspector General Amravati Zone, Jayant Naiknaware, Superintendent of Police Nagpur, Deputy Commissioner of Rural Police (Crime Branch), Deputy Commissioner of Police Circle-2, Nagpur, extended their cooperation.
