Nagpur: In yet another instance of exposing government officials’ alleged involvement in the ‘Rs 50 Crore Amrut Water Supply Scheme Tender’, it has come to light that M/s Laxmi Engineering Pvt Ltd concealed crucial information regarding their previous tenders, particularly the Rs 632 crore Solapur Smart City project. This revelation has raised serious concerns about the transparency and integrity of the tendering process.
According to the tender terms and conditions, M/s Laxmi Engineering Pvt Ltd omitted this critical information from Annexure-A of the tender document. This same discrepancy was identified in the Amravati 156 village scheme, leading to the disqualification of M/S Laxmi in that tender.
Despite the objections raised by Samruddhi Infra Projects, the Kalmeshwar Bramhni Nagar Parishad has yet to take appropriate action against the contractor. Allegations suggest that local political pressure might be influencing this decision, potentially resulting in a loss of government funds allocated for the project.
Furthermore, as per the stipulations outlined in the tender conditions, M/S Laxmi Engineering Pvt Ltd stands eligible for disqualification in this tender and is prohibited from participating in subsequent calls for the same project and can also get black-listed.
Surprisingly, CO Kalmeshwar Bramhni Rameshwar Pandagale has issued a letter threatening to forfeit the Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) of Samruddhi Infraprojects. This move underscores concerns of deliberate favoritism towards M/s Laxmi Engineering under the influence of local political figures.
Rajendra Katpalliwar, Chief Engineer, Maharashtra Jeevan Pradhikaran has also been keeping quite on the matter.
The ‘Rs 50 Crore Amrut Water Supply Scheme Tender’ in Kalmeshwar-Bramhani Municipal Council has now become synonymous with controversy, as allegations of favoritism and irregularities continue to mount.
Nagpur Today’s previous reports have exposed a range of irregularities in the tendering process, from accommodating disqualified firms to sidelining Nagpur-based Samrudhi Infra Projects.
Samruddhi Infra Projects has voiced concerns over alleged pressure on their collaborators to withdraw support, potentially driven by political influences. They have also hinted at a conspiracy involving officials from both the Kalmeshwar-Bramhani Municipal Council and Maharashtra Jeevan Pradhikaran, with the apparent goal of awarding the tender to Laxmi Engineering, a firm previously disqualified due to conflicts of interest.
The unfolding situation raises significant questions about the transparency and fairness of the tendering process and calls for a thorough investigation into the alleged irregularities. The concerned authorities are urged to take immediate action to address these concerns and ensure a transparent and accountable procurement process for the ‘Rs 50 Crore Amrut Water Supply Scheme.’
