Nagpur: A 52-year-old property dealer was shot dead by his partner in the early hours of Wednesday in the Mominpura area, the police said.
The deceased has been identified as Jamil Ahmad, a resident of Hotel Rehman Chowk. The police have booked the accused, Mohammad Parvez Mohammad Haroon (24), a resident of Chudi Galli, Mominpura, and two others in connection with the incident.
According to police sources, Jamil and Parvez were business partners in the property dealing business. Recently, an argument had been brewing between the two due to the sharing of property proceeds. Both Jamil and Parvez had previously quarreled over the same issue.
At around 1:30 am on Wednesday, Parvez, along with his two accomplices, approached Jamil’s house. Jamil, who also owns a hotel, was at the reception with one of his employees. Parvez, enraged by the previous fights over property, reportedly took out a gun and shot Jamil in the eye. The accused then fled the spot.
Following the incident, Nahida, the wife of Jamil, filed a police complaint. Tehsil Police, in the meantime, have sent the body for autopsy and registered an offence of murder against the accused.
The manhunt for the accused is underway.
