Smart India Hackathon is an initiative run by the Ministry of Education & AICTE in which 47 renowned colleges were selected as Nodal Centers across India by MoE. G H Raisoni College of Engineering Nagpur is one of the prominent Institute of Central India was selected as a Nodal center. 22 teams consisting of 170+ students & mentors had worked for 36 hours continuously to provide solution on 5 problems given by Ministry of Ayush on 19th& 20thDecember 2023.
The event was inaugurated by Chief guest Mr. NileshLele, President Chamber of Advancement of Small & Medium Business in the presence of Guest of Honor Mr. Shakal Shukla, PMO Claim Genius along with Dr. SachinUntawale Director GHRCE and Steering Committee members Dr. Dinesh Padole, Dr. Santosh Jaju.

In his address Mr. Shakal Shukla emphasized that students should persist in developing the software or app they create during the hackathon to contribute towards solving societal problems. He also talked about the necessity of hard work & consistency to achieve success and asked students to empower themselves with knowledge andhardwork. Mr. NileshLele extended his best wishes to all hackathon participants and highlighted the issue of the imbalance between job providers and job seekers.
He urged all participants to aspire to become entrepreneurs, emphasizing the importance of being job creators rather than job seekers. He requested all to post the hackathon related stuffs on social media and tag #sih2023 to promote this hackathon as a mega event worldwide. Inauguration function concluded with the vote of thanks by Dr. D V Padole.
The participating teams worked on 5 problem statements given by Ministry of Ayush and generated solution during 36 hours from 8:00 am on 19th Dec to 8 pm on 20th December 2023. The Hon. Prime Minister Shri. Narendra Modiji addressed and encouraged the participants through online meeting on 19th Dec at 9:30 pm. The host institute GHRCE, Nagpur organized recreational activities like zumba, music concert, sports etc to rejuvenate the participants.
The valedictory function of the SIH 23 at GHRCE was conducted on 20thDecember evening in presence of Chairman RGI Shri. SuniljiRaisoni, Chief Guest, RiteshPatwardhan Senior Director, Hotelkey, Mr. NileshLele, Nodal Center Head for SIH 2023, Director GHRCE, Dr. SachinUntawale,Steering Committee members Dr. Dinesh Padole, Dr. Santosh Jaju.Based on the evaluation by panel of judges,winners were declared for 5 problem statements given by Ministry of Ayush. Winning teams were awarded with 5 Lakh prize money along with Certificates&Momento. The prizes were distributed by the hands of dignitaries present on the dais. The dignitaries congratulated the winning teamsand organizing team of GHRCE for successful organization of event.
Evaluators, Mentors & Participants expressed their views and feedback about SIH &host Institute. Team SIH 23 GHRCE worked hard for the event and thanked Shri SuniljiRaisoni Chairman RGI & Dr. SachinUntawale Director GHRCE, Nagpur for their motivation and support throughout the event.
