Nagpur: An Indigo Airlines flight from Kolkata to Mumbai made an emergency landing at Nagpur Airport on Tuesday when a 50-year-old passenger complained of severe pain in the ear. He had been recently diagnosed with parotid tumour, a type of cancer of the salivary glands, which are located close to the ear, which is expected to have caused the pain. He was travelling for treatment to Mumbai.

Subrata Bharti, a 58-year-old cancer patient, was travelling from Kolkata to Mumbai by flight number 6E 5297 of IndiGo Airlines. When the flight was midair, he suffered from severe pain in the ear. The flight made an emergency landing at the airport where the ambulance of KIMS-Kingsway Hospital was ready. The patient is now stable and reportedly flew to Mumbai on Wednesday morning.
