Nagpur: In a remarkable achievement, Meraki Theatre’s production, ‘The Bread of Life – Dr. Pandurang Khankhoje – The Unsung Hero,’ has been selected for the prestigious 23rd Bharat Rang Mahotsav, the largest international theater festival in Asia.
The play, written and directed by Mangala Sanap of Meraki Performing Arts Organization, Nagpur, pays homage to Pandurang Khankhoje, a revolutionary agronomist and a key figure in India’s Green Revolution. The presentation is scheduled for tomorrow, February 5th, 2024, at 6 PM, at the Jai Narayan Vyas Town Hall Auditorium in Jodhpur, Rajasthan.
Nagpur takes pride in receiving this honor for the third time, showcasing its vibrant cultural contribution to the national stage. ‘The Bread of Life’ promises to captivate audiences with its portrayal of Khankhoje’s remarkable contributions to agriculture and the freedom struggle.
The stellar cast, including Pushpak Bhat, Harshvardhan Deshmukh, Krishna Lata, Rituraj Wankhede, and others, underlines the play’s commitment to bringing history to life. With lighting design by Akshay Khobragade, music composition by Narayan, and direction by Nikita Dhakulkar, the production guarantees a powerful and immersive experience.
