Identified as L Deonath N R Laxminarsimhan (31), the deceased was a native of Sam Sweet, Sector 29, Faridabad, Haryana. He was working as Senior Manager with Hexaware Technologies Ltd, MIHAN, and was staying with his office colleagues Gaurav Bhimsen Chandel (32) and Pawan Anil Gupta-Halwai (28) in a rented accommodation near Manish Nagar.

Though L Deonath was the boss of Gaurav and Pawan, he used to enjoy liquor with them after the night shift in their shared flat. Often, he used to scold them for not doing their job sincerely and even humiliate them in office. In the small hours of Monday, the trio were consuming liquor at their flat. Deonath again started abusing Gaurav and Pawan and even threatened to sack them from service.

Fed-up of constant torture by their boss, they decided to eliminate him. Gaurav and Pawan bought knives and stabbed L Deonath on his chest repeatedly killing him on the spot. They then wrapped the body in a piece of cloth and made it look like an accident. They took it to Orange City Hospital & Research Institute where L Deonath was declared ‘brought dead.’

When police recorded their statements, they concocted a story that L Deonath had consumed excess alcohol and fell on a knife resulting in his death. Initially, Beltarodi Police had registered an accidental death. Later, cops and forensic experts collected some evidence from the spot where the murder took place. Even the post-mortem report revealed that L Deonath died of stab injuries. Cops then took Gaurav, a native of Betul (MP) and Pawan, a native of Anuppur, Amarkantak Road, district Anuppur (MP) into custody on suspicion.

During their interrogation, Gaurav and Pawan confessed to killing L Deonath with sharp-edged weapons. Police arrested them immediately on charges under Sections 302, 34 of the IPC and started further investigation.
