Nagpur: The Durg police, on the basis of the revelations made by two arrested drug-peddlers, detained a woman from Nagpur who used to allegedly supply brown sugar in the city. The police took the accused drug peddler to Nagpur where he identified the supplier woman following which she was arrested by the Durg Police.
The accused woman Chitra Thakur, wife of Manoj Rahangdale, is a resident of Shanti Nagar, Itwari Railway Station, Nagpur. Reports said that a few days ago police had arrested Lucky Mahar (29) and Lalla Dheemar (24), both residents of Shivpara, Durg while they were looking for customers to sell brown sugar. Several packets of brown sugar were recovered from them and based on revelations made by Lucky that he had purchased the drugs from a woman at Nagpur, the police rushed to the city and arrested Chitra on Lucky’s instance.
A case against Chitra and others accused was also registered under various sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. She was later produced before the local court in Durg which sent her to jail on 14 day judicial remand.
