Prime Minster Narendra Modi is all set to fight the Lok Sabha elections 2024 from the Varanasi seat of Uttar Pradesh, a seat he currently represents in the Lower House of the Parliament. The announcement came as part of Bhartiya Janata Party’s first list of 195 candidates, which was released on Saturday.
As many as 34 Union Ministers and two former Chief Ministers are part of the first list. Releasing the list, BJP general secretary Vinod Tawde said that 28 women candidates, 47 youths, 27 Scheduled Caste, 18 Scheduled Tribe and 57 OBC candidates are included in the list.
Among the major names in the list, Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal will contest from Dibrugarh, Kiren Rijiju from Arunachal Pradesh. Former External Affairs minister, late Sushma Swaraj’s daughter Bansuri Swaraj has been fielded from New Delhi.
Union Ministers Amit Shah is set to contest from Gandhinagar, Rajiv Chandrashekhar from Thiruvananthapuram and Jyotiraditya Scindia from Guna, MP.
