In what has evolved into a women’s movement, the Sandeshkhali saga, marked by allegations of sexual assault and coerced slavery by local politicians, will dominate discussions at the RSS’s highest decision-making body gathering. This annual meeting is pivotal for charting the organization’s course of action and programs for the upcoming year.

A senior RSS functionary stated, “Sandeshkhali has now become a women’s movement. It is one of the crucial movements that the country has seen.” The meeting will witness the attendance of Sangh volunteers and Prant Pracharaks from the region, offering insights into the ground realities and discussing strategies to support the survivors in their battle.

Political Heavyweights Expected to Attend

The four-day conference will witness the participation of representatives from all RSS affiliates, including the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Notable political figures such as BJP’s national president JP Nadda and national general secretary BL Santhosh are expected to grace the event. With 1,570 senior members in attendance, including representatives from the Rashtra Sevika Samiti, the women’s wing of the RSS, the meeting is poised to address critical issues facing the nation.

RSS’s Role Signifies Intensification of Agitation

The RSS’s deliberation on Sandeshkhali underscores the organization’s potential to mobilize resources and affiliates for spearheading movements. This also indicates BJP’s inclination to elevate the issue as an election agenda, intensifying pressure on the ruling Trinamool Congress in West Bengal.

Crucial Considerations Amid Political Landscape

In a state where BJP faces formidable opposition from Mamata Banerjee’s Trinamool Congress, issues like land grab, coerced slavery, and alleged sexual exploitation are anticipated to galvanize momentum against the incumbent government.

As the RSS gears up for its annual conclave in Nagpur, the nation watches closely, anticipating the strategic decisions that will shape the political landscape in the coming year.
