Nagpur: A man killed his father-in-law over family dispute at Fetri village in Kalmeshwar Police Station area.
Yashwant Shankar Ingole (65), was brutally murdered in his sleep by his son-in-law, Firoz Shabbir Sheikh (34). The police have stated that Firoz, a resident of Fetri, used a rod to strike Yashwant on the head, resulting in his death.
The motive behind this brutal act appears to be a dispute between Firoz and his wife, Mona, which escalated to involve Yashwant. Firoz had married Mona seven years ago, and the couple has a five-year-old daughter. However, due to conflicts between them, Mona chose to separate from Firoz and moved back to her father’s residence. She even initiated divorce proceedings. Despite Mona’s decision to leave him, Firoz persisted in attempting to reconcile with her.
He frequently visited Yashwant’s house, urging Mona to return to him. These encounters often ended in heated arguments. Firoz, suspecting Mona of having an affair, became increasingly frustrated as she refused to reconcile, said police. The situation took a tragic turn on Friday night when Firoz forcibly entered Yashwant’s house by climbing onto the roof. He attacked both Yashwant and Mona with a rod, inflicting serious injuries on them.
Both victims were rushed to a hospital where Yashwant was pronounced dead. Mona’s condition remains critical, police said. Following the incident, the police launched a search and apprehended Firoz in Telgaon, located in Wardha district. He has been charged under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code for the murder of Yashwant Ingole.
