Nagpur: The vigilant sleuths of the Nagpur Crime Branch on Tuesday nabbed four people armed with English knives and a sword under the jurisdiction of New Kamptee Police.
According to police sources, Crime Branch officials received a tip-off regarding a group of individuals planning something suspicious. Acting swiftly on the inputs, the police intercepted a Swift car carrying four persons identified as Aashish alias Monu Manpiya, a resident of Kanhan, Rajat Dilip Natet, a resident of Mecosabagh, Karan Ram Natet, a resident of Mecosabagh, and Abdul Taj Wald Abdul Aziz, a resident of Kamptee. One of their accomplices, identified as Ramakant, reportedly evaded capture by the police.
The police rounded up all four accused and found English knives and a sword in their possession. Besides the sharp-edged weapons, the police also seized a Maruti Suzuki car, four mobile phones, and other materials worth Rs 5.66 lakh.
An offense under Sections 399 and 402 of the IPC, along with Section 135 of the Arms Act, was registered against them at the New Kamptee Police Station. Further investigation is ongoing.
