Two men arrested two for kidnapping, raping minor girl in Nagpur

Nagpur: Investigation by Kalamna Police revealed that the 10-year-old girl rescued by a wireless operator of the Nagpur Police’s Control Room was sexually assaulted by her kidnapper Surendra Ramkrishna Paraye on Wednesday. Besides Paraye (36), cops arrested another man named Manohar Malkhede (53), a resident of Savitri Nagar, in this connection.

The victim was helping her brother sell clothes on the roadside in the Kalamna area as her father had gone out for work. Paraye tricked the girl into going with him on a two-wheeler. He took her to an isolated place and raped her. A resident of Ayodhya Nagar, Paraye then came with her to a liquor shop at Rajkamal Square in Ajni area where he met his friend Malkhede. After consuming liquor, both decided to take the girl to another deserted place.

However, Paraye’s vehicle ran out of fuel near Bhande Plot. An alert wireless operator of Nagpur Police who knew the description of the kidnapper and his vehicle details, spotted Paraye with the girl while returning home. He caught Paraye and informed the Control Room. Soon, a team of Sakkardara Police took Paraye into custody and handed him over to their Kalamna counterparts.

After the girl was rescued, she narrated her ordeal to her parents who immediately informed the investigators about it. Cops arrested Paraye and Malkhede by registering a case under relevant Sections of the Indian Penal Code and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act and obtained remand for their custodial interrogation till April 2.
