Nagpur: A discussion on the presidential election at the Gurudwara based in Kamal Chowk took a violent turn after two groups clashed with each other, the police said on Saturday.
Based on the complaint lodged by Jasmeet Singh Batia, the police have booked Pravindeer Singh Vij.
Speaking to Nagpur Today, Baburao Raut, Senior Police Inspector of Pachpaoli Police Station, informed that “A meeting was underway at Kamal Chowk Gurudwara for planning the presidential election. During the meeting, Batia and Vij got into an argument. The matter soon escalated, with Vij threatening Batia with a ‘kirpaan’. Following this, the matter was reported to the Pachpaoli Police,” said the PI.
“We have sent Batia for a medical checkup, and after the report, we will be pressing charges against Vij,” the PI mentioned.
