Nagpur: The two-day drama competition held under the auspices of the Nagpur Region of Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL), which took place in Amravati on April 5 and 6, witnessed a stellar performance by the Akola Circle. Their play, “Nothing to Say”, clinched top honours across various categories, securing six awards including Best Play. Meanwhile, “The Fear Factor” by the Chandrapur Circle emerged as the runner-up.
Regional Director of Nagpur Region, Suhas Rangari, felicitated the winners, underscoring the importance of such events in promoting artistic talent. Rangari urged all participants to continue their dialogue beyond competitions, emphasizing the need for sustained efforts even in the face of setbacks. Echoing this sentiment, chairman of the competition and Chief Engineer of Amravati Circle, Gyanesh Kulkarni, highlighted that while victory and defeat are part of the competition, the ultimate reward lies in enriching the audience with artistic expression.
Participants shared their experiences, expressing how the plays not only brought joy but also provided profound insights. Dilip Dodke, Chief Engineer of Nagpur Region, praised the outstanding performances while Sunil Deshpande, Chief Engineer of Chandrapur region, encouraged participants to persevere in their artistic endeavours.
The play “Nothing to Say”, directed by Dattatray Padalkar, written by Prasad Dani, and directed by Sanjay Purkar, resonated deeply with the audience. The storyline depicted the emotional turmoil of a girl, Malvika, who, due to family conflicts, seeks solace from her father (played by Madhav Sahasrabuddhe).
