Nagpur: The work on 43.8km Nagpur Metro Phase 2 project inched a step forward with French firm Enia Design bagging the Detailed Design Consultant (DDC) contract DDC-03, the Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (MahaMetro) has announced.
The scope of DDC-03 involves designing 8 elevated stations between Jamtha and Butibori on the Orange Line. These stations will be constructed at Ashokvan, Dongargaon, Mohgaon, Meghdoot MIDC, Butibori Police Station, MHADA Colony, MIDC KEC, and MIDC ESR.
The contract duration is 3 years.
Enia Design submitted a bid of ₹3.08 crore, significantly below Mahametro’s estimated cost. Consequently, a contract is expected to be moved forward after the Lok Sabha model code of conduct ends.
Three of the 4 DDCs for Metro Phase 2 have been assigned, with two of them granted to Enia Design, a subsidiary of France’s Enia Architects. This marks Enia’s second successful bid in Nagpur metro phase 2, having previously secured design package DDC-02 for 11 stations. The other packages include Package DDC-01 handled by LKT Engineering Consultants.
