Nagpur Railway Station, a pivotal hub in the Indian Railways network, has unveiled an innovative Digital Access Map, revolutionizing the passenger experience at railway stations. Developed by the Nagpur Division of Central Railway, this initiative aims to enhance passenger convenience and accessibility across 25 key railway stations in the division.
The Digital Access Map is a pioneering pictographic representation that illustrates the locations of various passenger amenities throughout the station premises. Its intuitive design provides passengers with comprehensive guidance on amenities such as waiting rooms (both reserved and unreserved), Divyang (specially-abled) ticket counters, lavatories, water taps and coolers, lifts, foot over bridges, entry and exit points, RPF Thana (Railway Protection Force Station), and more. The setup is back-lit to enable clear visibility at night also.
Designed with the passenger’s convenience in mind, this digital map serves as an indispensable tool for navigating the railway infrastructure efficiently. By offering clear visual cues and precise information about amenities available on different platforms and within the concourse/station area, it empowers passengers to make informed decisions and swiftly access the facilities they require.
Currently operational at 25 stations across the Nagpur Division, the Digital Access Map is set to be implemented at the remaining stations without delay, ensuring that every passenger within the division benefits from this innovative solution. The stations where the Digital Access Map is currently operational include Nagpur, Wardha Sewagram, Chandrapur, Ballarshah, Warora, Hinganghat, Bhnadak, Katol, Narkher, Pulgaon, Dhamangaon, Chandur, Pandhurna, Multai, Amla, and Betul.
