Nagpur: The scorching summer heat has been at its peak all over Vidarbha for the past few days. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted a heat wave in Nagpur, Wardha, Chandrapur, and Akola districts of Vidarbha on Wednesday, with no respite from the scorching heat expected throughout the week.
On Tuesday, Nagpur recorded 44.8°C, which was the second-highest of the season so far. Chandrapur and Wardha both recorded maximum temperatures of 45.2°C on Tuesday. Amravati, Gadchiroli, and Gondia were above the 44°C mark. The scorching summer heat is accompanied by high relative humidity all over Vidarbha, adding to the discomfort of citizens. On Tuesday, Yavatmal recorded the highest relative humidity at 78%, whereas Washim was at 77%. All other places in Vidarbha recorded relative humidity above the 50% mark, except for Nagpur, which was at 46% on Tuesday.
On Monday, Bramhapuri recorded the highest maximum temperature in all of Maharashtra at 47.1°C, whereas on Tuesday, the temperature in Bramhapuri was recorded at 45.2°C. Similarly, Nagpur district witnessed the hottest day of the season on Monday with 45.6°C, which reduced by 0.8°C on Tuesday.
The Weather Department predicted that the maximum temperature in Nagpur will remain around 45°C on Wednesday and will reduce by 1-2°C thereafter due to partially cloudy weather until June 3. The maximum temperature all over Vidarbha will start decreasing from Thursday onwards by 1-2°C due to partially cloudy weather. Despite the cloudy weather, the scorching heat will remain the same all over Vidarbha.
