Nagpur: Renowned sports anchor Ridhima Pathak and her brother Ishant Pathak have been charged by the Nagpur Cyber Police.
Ridhima, known for her anchoring during the IPL and ICC World Cup, is also a model. She and her brother Ishant own a company called Reseach Technology in Pune, which supplies electricity to Australia’s Estimate Electric Company. Their company was responsible for creating estimates and billing software for electricians. However, Ridhima and Ishant allegedly sent inflated and bogus bills to the foreign company. As a result, the Australian company decided to terminate their contract with Ridhima’s company. Following this, Ridhima and her brother allegedly hacked the company’s payment gateway, causing financial losses amounting to approximately 15,000 AUD.
Since the Australian company has an office in Nagpur, an employee filed a complaint at the Nagpur Cyber Police Station. The victim company’s lawyer, Ishant Tambi, stated that they approached the court. Based on the order of the Nagpur Bench of the Bombay High Court, charges have been filed against Ridhima Pathak and her brother Ishant under IPC sections 406, 420, and 467. The case has also been registered under IPC section 66.
