Rs 9 lakh cash stolen from parked car in Nagpur’s Sadar area

Nagpur: Two unidentified miscreants broke the window of a car parked in front of an apartment complex in the Chhaoni area of Sadar Police Station in Nagpur and stole Rs 9 lakh from the car on Friday.

According to the police, Nisar Sheikh (25), a resident of Tumsar, had come to Nagpur along with his mother, Najma Sheikh for some work. Nisar Sheikh owns a business in Tumsar and also owns a flat in Suraj Apartments in the Chhaoni area. They visited Axis Bank in Byramji Town, where Nisar Sheikh withdrew Rs 9 lakh in cash. Later, they drove to their flat in Suraj Apartments in Chhaoni to freshen up.

During this time, the cash bag was placed on the back seat of the car. Two unidentified goons with their faces covered arrived on a motorcycle. They broke the car’s window with a heavy object and stole the cash bag before fleeing. The incident came to the fore when the Sheikh family came to the car.

They reported the matter to the Sadar Police, who are now investigating the incident using CCTV footage from the location. A case has been registered by the police under the provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
