Nagpur residents woke up on Saturday to heavy rains, which caused widespread waterlogging and created a flood-like situation throughout the city. Areas near the Nag River and downstream of Ambazari Dam were particularly affected, with residents experiencing heightened panic.
The Meteorological Office recorded 91.3 mm of rainfall since 5:30 pm the previous day. This deluge challenged the local authorities’ recent claims of success in completing a 42 km cleaning drive aimed at clearing the Nag, Pili, and Pora rivers, along with several nullahs in the city.
Residents have voiced their frustration, stating that waterlogging has become a recurring issue at the start of the monsoon season. They criticized local authorities for not providing a permanent solution to the problem.
