Nagpur:The sight of snakes can make many people anxious, and recently, a pair of Indian Rat Snakes caused quite a stir at the Walkers Officers Club lawn in Nagpur. A video of these snakes has gone viral on social media.
After the sighting, local residents informed wildlife rescuer Shubham GR, who promptly arrived at the scene. Shubham successfully captured the pair of snakes and released them back into the wild.
The Indian Rat Snake, one of the most commonly found snakes in human habitats, kills its prey, usually rodents, by constriction. Known for its large size, this snake can grow up to 11 feet 9 inches long, though most commonly seen individuals are between 150 to 240 cm (8-8 feet) in length. The hatchlings emerge from eggs that are about 30-47 cm long.
