Nagpur: Paresh Bhagwat assumed the position of Regional Director of MSEDCL’s Nagpur office on July 25. Prior to this, Bhagwat served as the Chief Engineer (Pay and Revenue) at MSEDCL’s Prakashgad Headquarters in the city. He has been promoted to the Regional Director position through direct selection. Bhagwat brings with him extensive experience in the electricity sector, having served for 27 years.
The Nagpur Regional Office encompasses five divisions in the Vidarbha region: Nagpur, Amravati, Akola, Chandrapur, and Gondia. Paresh Bhagwat is originally from Kolhapur. He graduated in Electrical Engineering from Walchand College of Engineering, Sangli, and also holds a postgraduate degree in Financial Management.
In 1997, Paresh Bhagwat joined the then Maharashtra State Electricity Board as a Junior Engineer, starting his career in the Kudal division of the Ratnagiri circle. From 1999 to 2006, he served in the Kolhapur city and rural divisions. In August 2006, he was promoted directly to the position of Executive Engineer, managing the newly established Khed division in the Ratnagiri circle.
From 2007 to 2011, he was on deputation as the Assistant General Manager at Torrent Power Distribution Franchise in Bhiwandi. From January 2012 to July 2021, he held various responsibilities at MSEDCL’s Prakashgad Headquarters as Executive Engineer, Superintendent Engineer, and Chief Engineer, overseeing distribution, power procurement, and project departments. From August 2021 to July 2024, he served as the Chief Engineer of the Kolhapur division.
Upon assuming his new role, Bhagwat expressed his commitment to ensuring transparent and high-quality service, with a customer-centric approach.
