Nagpur: The Ghat Road Underpass, which is over 100 years old, is set to undergo redevelopment by the Central Railway. Currently, the road beneath two spans of the bridge is used by commuters. According to railway officials, Nagpur Division received approval from the Traffic DCP on August 20th to reinforce Span No. 2. This permission is valid until September 30th.
During this 40-day period, traffic will be allowed in both directions through Span No. 1 only, effectively making the bridge a one-way route. To minimize congestion, the railway authorities have advised commuters to use alternative routes, including the Anand Talkies-Vijay Talkies connecting subway and the Loha Pul Old and New Metro subways.
