Nagpur: A youth was murdered at Shatabdi Chowk under the jurisdiction of Ajni Police Station, Nagpur. The victim, identified as 28-year-old Pawan Sontakke, a resident of Ramtekenagar, Galli No. 4, was attacked and killed by 3 to 4 assailants who stabbed him multiple times. The police have launched a search for the suspects involved.
Pawan, who ran a footwear shop on Sitabuldi Main Road, had been drinking with three to four friends from the neighborhood on Monday night. The group gathered at Shatabdi Chowk, where a heated argument broke out, likely fueled by intoxication. The dispute escalated, leading two of the men to assault Pawan with knives. He succumbed to his injuries at the scene, while the attackers fled.
Upon receiving information about the incident, Ajni Police Station’s inspector Nitinchandra Rajkumar and a team from the Crime Branch rushed to the scene. They conducted a preliminary investigation and sent Pawan’s body for postmortem. The police have identified a few suspects and are actively searching for them.
