Hudkeshwar Police nab thief for stealing copper wires from construction site

Nagpur : Hudkeshwar Police have apprehended a thief involved in the theft of copper wire bundles worth Rs 1.83 lakh from a construction site.

The accused, Yogesh alias Lucky Ramesh Shahu (27), residing in Mahakali Nagar No. 3, behind Dahan Ghat, Hudkeshwar, allegedly broke into a storeroom at the Leverage Construction Company site on Pipla Road, Besa, on August 24. Yogesh stole electric wire bundles of various brands, prompting a complaint from Swapnil Kumbhare, the store in-charge.

Following an investigation led by PSI Mahesh Pande and his team under the supervision of DCP Archit Chandak, ACP Vinayak Kote, and Senior PI Gyaneshwar Bhedodkar, Yogesh was arrested. He confessed to the crime and implicated scrap dealer Shaikh Hussain alias Babbu Kabadi Abdul Rasheed (50) of Plot No. 01, C-1, Shahu Colony, Bajrang Nagar, Ajni, as his accomplice for purchasing the stolen goods.

The police also recovered a Honda Activa scooter used by Yogesh during the theft. Both Yogesh and Shaikh Hussain have been booked under charges of burglary at the Hudkeshwar Police Station.
