Lohit Matani Returns as Nagpur Deputy Commissioner in Major IPS Transfers

Nagpur: Several IPS officers have been transferred across the state, with Lohit Matani, who was recently moved from Bhandara to Mumbai, now returning to Nagpur. Matani has been appointed as the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) in Nagpur. Along with Matani, two other officers, Mahak Swami and Nithipudi Rashmita Rao from the 2020 batch, have also been appointed as DCPs in Nagpur.

The Home Department released the list of transfers on Thursday. Matani, who has prior experience working in Nagpur, was earlier transferred from Nagpur to Bhandara as Superintendent of Police (SP). On August 22, he was moved to Mumbai as Assistant Inspector General of Police (Law and Order). However, within two weeks, he has been reassigned to Nagpur. Meanwhile, current DCP of Nagpur, Nimit Goel, has been transferred to the Mumbai Police as Deputy Commissioner.

Additionally, new officers have been assigned to various posts in Vidarbha. Singa Reddy Rishikesh Reddy has been transferred to Gadchiroli as Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP), and Sushant Singh from the 2019 batch has been appointed as Commandant of the India Reserve Battalion-5 in Akola. The Principal of Nagpur Police Training Center, Laxmikant Patil, has been assigned the role of Superintendent of Cyber Security in Mumbai.

In further transfers, Deepak Agrawal from the 2021 batch has been appointed as Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) for Nagpur Rural, Shubham Kumar as SDPO of Achalpur, and Vrishti Jain as SDPO of Umred.
