Nagpur: The city-based organisation Sakha held a Heritage Walk with flagship Heritage Dialogue initiative ‘The Nagpur Tales’ in collaboration with Maharashtra Tourism and Development Corporation. The walk was curated by Ar. Sandeep Pathe, and led by Ar. Ishika Moundekar in presence of Guest Resource person Ar. Amruta Vaidya.
The precinct which is rich in natural and historic characteristics, the walk was started at Amrai Gate, leading ahead to the Nachbangla and the Bhosale Wada which was a retreat for the Royal family of Bhosale, of which only the plinth stands, the water channel streams which are placed cardinally to the wada and nachbangla (Retreat House).
The walk was carried ahead to the Khajhina Vihir (meaning the well of treasures). The walk further elaborated at Murlidhar Temple having the rich architecture that belongs to Bhosale era of Nagpur. The walk ended with a Dialogue to introspect for safeguarding natural heritage such as Sonegaon Lake.
Walking amid forest and reimagining the royal past of Nagpurkar Bhosale and experiencing the richness of forest and biodiversity were the special attraction of heritage walk at Sonegaon.
