Video: Grand Ganesh Visarjan in Nagpur, Devotees Bid Farewell to ‘Nagpurcha Raja’

Nagpur: Nagpur witnessed a grand celebration as devotees gathered in large numbers to bid farewell to ‘Nagpurcha Raja,’ one of the most revered Ganesh idols in the city. After ten days of heartfelt worship and devotion, emotions ran high as devotees, with tearful eyes, prayed for Lord Ganesha’s return next year.

The idol of ‘Nagpurcha Raja,’ adorned with gold jewelry, captivated the attention of all devotees. A royal procession was held in honor of the idol, which holds a prestigious place in Nagpur’s Ganesh celebrations.

This year, Nagpur saw the installation of 1,212 public Ganesh idols across the city. Of these, 457 idols are set for immersion today. For idols taller than four feet, the immersion will take place at Koradi Lake, with Kolar and Kanhan rivers also serving as immersion sites for larger idols. Smaller idols will be immersed in artificial tanks created within the city for this purpose.

To ensure the smooth conduct of the immersion process, over 5,000 police officers and personnel have been deployed, according to the Police Commissioner. The city is well-prepared to manage the grand farewell, with devotees chanting, “Pudhchya Varshi Lavkar Ya” (Come early next year) as they say goodbye to their beloved Bappa.
