“We are expecting widespread monsoon rains in the region from September 24 onwards and it will likely take place due a cyclonic circulation which will cause moderate to heavy rainfall at many places in Vidarbha,” Pravin Kumar, Scientist C, Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC), Nagpur told a local newspaper. While talking about Nagpur, the scientist said, “Moderate rains are likely to take place in the city from September 24-25 onwards and there are chances of some more light rains further due to local weather formation.”

Due to rains, the temperature will drop in the region which will give an indication of the start of winter season in near future. Meanwhile, the people of Nagpur are suffering from scorching heat due to dry weather for the last many days. With 35.5 degrees Celsius on Friday, Nagpur witnessed the highest maximum temperature of September this year. It was the hottest in Vidarbha as well.
