●      By Connecting With the Insurance Provider

Contacting your vehicle insurance provider is one of the ideal ways to find out the expiry date of your current plan. You can connect with them by mailing them using your registered mail ID. You can also call their helpline number or send an SMS from your registered mobile number.

●      Checking the Official Website of Your Insurance Company

Most vehicle insurance providers tend to have an online portal these days, where the policyholders can log in and view the necessary details regarding their insurance policy. These include the validity period of your insurance plan along with its expiry date.

●      From the Bureau of Insurance Information

IIB or the Insurance Information Bureau maintains all the details regarding the vehicle insurance plans in the country. You can refer to the following steps to find out the expiry date of your plan:

Step 1: Visit the official website of IIB.

Step 2: Navigate to the ‘V Seva’ option under the “Quick Links” tab.

Step 3: You will be redirected to a new page, where you have the details of your vehicle and the insurance policy. Fill in the required information along with your address, registration number etc.

Step 4: Enter the captcha code as given and click on the “Submit” button. The screen will display the expiry date of your vehicle’s insurance policy.

●      Through the Official Website of VAHAN

Policyholders are also allowed to check the expiry dates of insurance policies through the official website of VAHAN following the given steps:

Step 1: Visit the official website of VAHAN.

Step 2: Navigate to the option called “Know Your Vehicle Details”.

Step 3: You will be redirected to a new page, where you have the details of your vehicle and the insurance policy. Fill in the required information along with your address, registration number etc.

Step 4: Now select the “Search Vehicle” option and the screen will display all the information about your vehicle along with the expiry date of its insurance policy.

●      Through the Regional Transport Office

Every individual is mandated to register their vehicles in the nearest RTO of a particular state or city. Thus, you can also check the expiry date of your bike or private car insurance policy from the official website of that RTO. Following are the steps for the same:

Step 1: Visit the official website of your state’s Regional Transport Office.

Step 2: Navigate to the “Online Services – For Citizens” option.

Step 3: Now go to the “Vehicle Related Online Services” option.

Step 4: Select the details of the RTO where your vehicle has been registered and click on the “Know Your Vehicle Details” under the “Status” tab.

Step 5: Enter the required details of your vehicle like chassis number, registration number etc.

Step 6: Enter the captcha code as given and click on the “Submit” button. The screen will display the details of your vehicle along with the expiry date of your vehicle’s insurance policy.
