Vibrant ‘Sindur Khela’ by Bengali community marks end of Durga Puja in Nagpur

Nagpur: The Bengali community in Nagpur marked the conclusion of Durga Puja, also known as Dashami, with heartfelt devotion on Sunday. Women from the community participated in the traditional ritual of ‘Sindur Khela,’ a celebration symbolizing prosperity and the longevity of their husbands. The event was organized by various Bengali associations, including the Bengali Cultural Society at Katol Road, Nagpur.

‘Sindur Khela,’ which involves married women applying vermillion to one another, is not just a ritual but an expression of tradition, devotion, and a wish for collective well-being. This cultural highlight, deeply rooted in Bengali customs, was celebrated at the Basant Panchami Maidan, CPWD Colony, Katol Road, with great enthusiasm and adherence to tradition.
