Nagpur: A modern and smart toilet built by the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) was inaugurated by Municipal Commissioner and Administrator Abhijeet Chaudhari on Monday at Walkers Street in Civil Lines, Nagpur. The toilet is full of modern amenities. It is air-conditioned and has two toilets and changing rooms for women and three toilets and two toilets for men.
The toilet has a sensor-based smart entrance that does not need to be opened or closed manually.

Collector Vipin Itankar, Additional Commissioner Anchal Goyal, Deputy Commissioners Prakash Warade and Dr Gajendra Mahalle, Superintending Engineer Manoj Talewar, Executive Engineer (Slum) Kamlesh Chavan and Devendra Bhowte were also present.
Solar panels have been installed on top of the toilet. There is a rest room facility for the employees working in the smart toilet. Apart from this, facilities like a hand dryer, wash basin have been provided for women. Along with cleanliness, trees have been planted at the entrance to make the entire area look beautiful.
Use of urinal at the smart toilet will be free while charges will be levied for other facilities viz Rs 7 for toilet use, Rs 20 for cold water bath and Rs 30 for hot water bath.
For proper maintenance of the smart toilet, a room for maintenance personnel has been made by NMC in the upper part of the building.
On the occasion, Walkers Club’s Prashant Ugemuge, Dinesh Naidu, Praveen Kale, Rahul Gharote, Sanjay Chaurasia, Brijesh Sahu, Abhishek Thakur, Deven Aggarwal, NMC Junior Engineer Manoj Rangari, Sachin Chawte, Arun Pethewar, Kapil Gupta and Rajeev Chaudhary were also present.
Besides this, NMC has also set up a dinosaur selfie point on Walkers Street next to a smart restroom for kids.
