Nagpur: The Nagpur Bench of the Bombay High Court has delivered justice to the relatives of martyred Corona warriors from the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC). Under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Package, the Central and Maharashtra Governments had issued a circular stating that families of employees who lost their lives after contracting COVID-19 while performing their duties during the pandemic, without regard for their own safety, would be entitled to an ex-gratia amount of Rs 50 lakh.

Despite multiple petitions, protests, and demonstrations by the All India Safai Mazdoor Congress under the leadership of Maharashtra Secretary Vicky Prakash Badhel since 2019, justice was not granted.
