Nagpur: The prestigious Mukhyamantri Majhi Shala, Sundar Shala Award-II was presented to Nagpur’s Saraswati Vidyalaya High School and Junior College, run by South Indian Education Society (SIES), in a ceremony held at Mumbai’s National Centre for Performing Arts recently. The award was presented by Deepak Kesarkar, Education Minister of Maharashtra.
The school received a trophy, certificate of second position and a cheque of Rs 15 lakh. The Mukhyamantri Majhi Shala, Sundar Shala Award recognises schools that have demonstrated exceptional achievements in various aspects of education, including academic excellence, infrastructural development, students-centric approach, community engagement and overall school environment.
Saraswati Vidyalaya’s selection for this award is a testament to its commitment to providing quality education, and fostering and nurturing learning environment for its students. School’s achievements that led to the award, is its quality academic performance, innovative teaching methods, extra curricular activities, community engagement initiatives and approach to holistic development.
The award ceremony was attended by R Ganesh, Treasurer, SIES; Pushpa Ananthanarayana, Headmaster; Ravindra Kulkarni, Supervisor; Asawari Maste, Assistant Teacher; and Vaishali Gujar, Teacher’s Representative. The Headmaster Pushpa Ananthanarayan expressed her immense gratitude for this magnanimous accomplishment by thanking Deputy Director of Education Nagpur, Education Officer of Secondary Department and Deputy Education Officer whose guidance and support significantly contributed in the success.

The New English School of Pune secured the first place in the ‘Majhi Shala, Sundar Shala’ campaign while Shree Shivaji Maratha High School, also of Pune, ranked third.
