Nagpur: A significant drop in minimum temperatures was recorded on Monday morning as clear skies replaced the cloudy weather. The temperature in Nagpur fell by 3°C in just 24 hours, settling at 16°C. The Meteorological Department has warned of increasing cold in the coming days.

For the past week, Cyclone Phyan caused noticeable weather changes across Vidarbha, with cloudy skies and light rain reported in some districts. The chilly November weather gave way to warmer conditions due to the cyclone, which led to a rise in both maximum and minimum temperatures towards the end of the month.

However, as December began, the clouds have cleared, and cold winds from North India are now impacting the Vidarbha region. This shift in wind direction has brought about a sharp dip in temperatures.

On Monday, Nagpur’s temperature dropped to 16°C, while Gadchiroli and Amravati recorded minimum temperatures of 15.4°C. Several other districts also reported similar temperature declines. According to the weather department, the mercury is expected to dip further in the coming days as winter intensifies in the region.
