Nagpur: Often criticized for their handling of crime, Nagpur Police displayed a compassionate side when they turned into guardians for a 10-year-old boy, making his birthday an unforgettable celebration.
Sanchit Arvind Narad, a resident of Wathoda, left home on Thursday around 11 a.m. without informing his family. The police later discovered that the child was upset because his birthday had gone uncelebrated. His worried parents initially searched the neighbourhood but, unable to find him, rushed to Wathoda Police Station around 4 p.m. to report him missing.
Understanding the urgency, the police registered a complaint and circulated Sanchit’s details for immediate action. By evening, constables on patrol spotted him near Swaminarayan Temple. Head Constable Shashikant (Buckle No. 375) and Constable Shailendra Singh (Buckle No. 14068) quickly informed the station about finding the missing child.
After speaking with the boy and learning about his disappointment, the officers decided to make his day special. Upon escorting him home, they surprised him with a birthday cake. The joyous celebration, led by the officers of Wathoda Police Station, brought smiles to the child’s face, ensuring his 10th birthday became one to remember.
This heartwarming gesture by Nagpur Police not only reunited a worried family but also highlighted the humane side of law enforcement.
