Nagpur: Ganeshpeth police solved the TV sets theft case of Empress Mall godown and arrested three persons who happened to be employees of the electronics shop. Cops have recovered seven sets of stolen TVs worth Rs 1.45 lakh from their possession.
According to details, the owner of the electronics godown situated at Empress Mall checked the stock of LED TVs on August 20 and found that some sets were missing. Subsequently, he questioned employees of the shop in this connection and suspected the role of some of them in the theft. The owner lodged a complaint in this regard with Ganeshpeth police who registered a case under Sections 381, 34 of the IPC and launched a probe.
During the investigation, the cops summoned the employees of the electronics shop and subjected them to intense interrogation. The questioning proved fruitful as the three accused employees namely Nilesh Ramdayal Rajak (23) of Old Jaripatka, Kapil Sidharth Meshram (21) of Imambada and Shivam Kamal Soni (18) of Bhandeplot, Bapunagar, confessed their involvement in the theft of TV sets. Cops also recovered seven sets of LED TVs of different companies worth Rs 1.45 lakh.
The task was accomplished by Naik Police Constables Anand Wankhede, Ajay Kiradkar, Sharad Chambhare, constables Ashish Bahad, Ananta Garmode under the guidance of Senior Police Inspector M K Chavan, API A P Taksande and as per the directives of DCP Zone-3 and ACP Kotwali Division.
