NMC accords warm farewell to 24 employees on retirement

Nagpur: Twenty-four officials and employees of Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) on Monday were felicitated and accorded warm farewell on their retirement from service.

Those who retired from long service of NMC include In-Charge Health Officer (Hospitals) Dr Savita Meshram, Deputy Engineer D N Nagrale, Finance Department’s Snehal Titre, GAD’s Arun Vaidya and 20 employees. Deputy Mayor Satish Holay offered the retiring employees with shawl, shriphal, Tulsi sapling, memeno and Provident Fund cheque.

Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Mayor Satish Holay said that retirement from any government service is part of an employee’s life and it is unavoidable. “Retirement day if of mixed emotions – happy as well as sad. On one hand, burden of daily government work is got rid and on other hand, habits dia hard. Question mark is there as what to do. But now the retirees should devote more time on reading, their hobbies and social work as they have a lot of experience,” Holay said and added that whenever NMC felt the need of utilizing their services in more ways than one, it will be done.

Other officials present on the occasion include NMC Superintendent Fago Uike, Provident Fund Assistant Superintendent Dattatray Dahake, Fire Department’s Assistant Station Officer Keshav Kothe, and others.
