Nagpur: In a curious incident, a gritty woman on Sunday foiled an attempt to rob her by two motorcycle-borne miscreants as she held her purse tightly. As a result, the goons crashed on the road but managed to escape leaving behind their bike. However, the young girl could not dare to lodge a complaint against the two robbers forcing a cop to do the job.

The young girl, Nikita Jayant Fating (23), resident of Ganjipeth, opposite Hanuman Mandir, along with her sister, was returning home around 8.15 pm on Sunday walking. They were coming from Ganeshpeth Bus Stand. As the two sisters reached near Raman Science Centre gate at Agyaram Devi Mandir square, two goons riding a Honda Unicon motorcycle (MH-31/GD 9777) tried to snatch a purse of Nikita forcibly. However, as Nikita had held her purse tightly, the two bike-borne robbers felt a jerk and fell on road. But the goons managed to flee the spot leaving behind their bike. Police Control Room was informed about the incident upon which a team of cops reached the spot. The cops requested Nikita to lodge va complaint against the two goons but she seems to have developed cold feet and refused to so. On her refusal, a cop himself registered a case at Ganeshpeth Police Station.

PSI Gajbhare has booked the two absconding accused robbers under sections 393, 34 of the IPC and launched a search to arrest them.
